Gracie Barra earns top honors at inagural IBJJF Hall of Fame Dinner
The Hilton Hotel in Long Beach hosted the first International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation Hall of Fame awards dinner this week. The IBJJF is the main governing body of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu around the world.
The ceremony featured the biggest stars from both the past and present of Jiu-Jitsu.
Gracie Barra was officially crowned the #1 competition team in the world after amassing more than 7,000 points in competition. Inaugurated in 1986 by Master Carlos Gracie Jr., Gracie Barra has grown to become one of the most widely recognized Jiu Jitsu teams on the planet. After this week, however, there is no more debate: we are the best!
Gracie Barra had two athletes inducted into the Hall of Fame. One of them was reigning Medium Heavyweight world champion, Romulo Barral, who was given the honors after claiming his 3rd world title in 2013. The other being legendary Roger Gracie who proudly won 10 world titles for Gracie Barra before retiring from IBJJF competition.
